Texans land Grossman

According to Drew Rosenhaus’ Twitter account, which has quickly become a hot source of information, the Texans have signed former Chicago Bear Rex Grossman.

“Rex Grossman has officially signed with the Texans. He is excited about the opportunity to have a fresh start with the Texans,” he tweets.

We like this move. A lot. Not because we think Rex Grossman is the next coming of Joe Montana, but because he’s still a decent QB. He deserves to be in the league and some teams really missed out. I would love to have Grossman as a backup. A lot of teams don’t have anyone on the roster capable of starting, to have a guy who QB’ed a Super Bowl team as a backup is a nice luxury.

Would we want him as our full-time starter? Of course not. But at a time when their aren’t enough QB’s to go around, he’s a nice insurance policy.
