Jacobs slams Romo
In an interview with Brandon Tierney on ESPN 1050 in New York, Giants RB Brandon Jacobs didn’t exactly have a ton of compliments for Cowboys QB Tony Romo.
“I don’t think he’s that good a passer, to be honest with you,” Jacobs said.
Jacobs thinks that as long as you keep him from moving around and using his leg to make plays, he’s essentially just a guy.
“I’m not a fan of Tony Romo, no,” Jacobs continued. “Keep him in the pocket, he’s not that good. . . . His luck will be gone sooner or later. If you were to keep Tony Romo in the pocket he’s not that effective.”

Of all the criticism that Donovan McNabb takes that we feel is unjust, Romo is starting to enter that realm too. Romo is still better than most QB’s and he’s the best the Cowboys have had since Aikman. But believe us it’s not for a lack of trying. Vinny Testaverde, Chad Hutchinson, Quincy Carter, the list goes on. They’ve had a lot of crap.
And while some would argue that Romo hasn’t won a playoff game, we would argue that teams win playoff games, not QB’s. Other than the slippity sloppity move on the field goal at the end of the Seahawks game, he hasn’t been awful in the playoffs. No, that term would be used for the Cowboys as a whole.
But, add Jacobs to the list of people that think Romo is crap. Rightfully or not.
