John Daly makes British Open cut

The 1995 British Open champion is at it again.  Fresh off his six-month PGA Tour suspension, John Daly shot a combined 140 even par at the Ailsa Championship Course in Scotland.  He is five shots behind leaders Tom Watson and Steve Marino.

In December 2008, Daly was suspended after an infamous photo of him in an orange jumpsuit surfaced on the internet after a night in jail.  He was taken in custody for being intoxicated outside of a Hooters.  The orange jumpsuit was not a Hooters uniform, but an outfit the police let him borrow for the evening.

However, that is a thing of the past and Daly is now doing what he does best, drinking and eating golfing.  The 43-year old University of Arkansas alum shot a 68 on Thursday, followed by a 72 on Friday, to easily make the cut at The Open Championship tied for 22nd.

It’s the first time he made the cut since 2005, when he finished tied for 15th.
