Peavy done for the year?
San Diego Padres general manager Kevin Towers says that there is a chance that Jake Peavy will. never. pitch. again. Ok, he didn’t say that. He just thinks there is a chance that he doesn’t pitch again this year.

“I think it’s 50-50 if Jake will pitch again this season,” Towers said.
“We’ll know more when he comes out of the cast. I can’t speak for Jake, but I’d much rather have him ready for 2010 than risking more serious injury by coming back too early this year.”
Peavy’s name had been bandied about in trade talks for quite some time before he finally landed on the Mark Prior List. It’s certain now that no one would have any interest in trading him. Unless, somehow the Phillies were able to get him for Paul Bako.
