OTR has been informed about a deal which is almost done that will send Andre Miller to the Portland Trailblazers, Steve Blake and someone else to the Chicago Bulls, and Kirk Hinrich to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Apparently, this deal will get done if Andre Miller is able to get more money in some sort of way.
PHOTO CAPTION: When Kirk Hinrich yells and points, you listen.
OTR isn’t 100% positive that this deal has any truth to it, but thought we would just throw it out there.

is this true? why would portland do this?
Yeah,
Why would Portland do this? Isn’t Andre Miller a free agent? Why couldn’t Portland just sign him outright AND LOSE NOTHING?
Sign and trade. It’s an easier way to get bad contracts off the books. Philly would sign him to the deal that Portland wants, then trade him to Portland. Sign and trades also have different implications to the salary cap.
Perhaps Miller is going to receive more in the first year of the contract than the 7.7M Portland has available under the cap. In that case, a sign-and-trade would be a necessity. This would especially make sense if they front-load the contract, de-escalating over 4 years.
