Michael Taylor to Triple A
One of the Phillies top prospects, Michael Taylor, made his debut Friday with the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs in Triple A.

In his debut, the corner outfielder popped out weakly, foul, in his first at-bat. He then struck out looking on three pitches in his next at-bat, which surely secured him as a trade chip to Toronto. On his third try, he worked a walk after falling behind 0-2. He scorched a 1-1 breaking ball to third base in his fourth at-bat.
This guy is worth monitoring. He was rated as a top 25 prospect by Baseball America recently and is big, strong and knocks the crap out of the ball.

Taylor will definitely see better pitching in Triple A, but the Phils are not worried about that.
“He has a plan when he goes up there . . . and he’s got some ability,” said Phillies assistant general manager Benny Looper. “He’s got real good eye-hand coordination. He puts the ball in play.”
