Reyes done for the year?

New York Mets manager Jerry Manuel seems to think that Jose Reyes will be shelved for the year with his hamstring issue.

“I am kind of working on the assumption he won’t be back,” Manuel said.

The word around the Mets is that Reyes has been laying low lately, apparently a little gun shy about re-injuring himself. This is understandable for a guy who used to routinely rip hamstrings like they were tickets at a deli counter.

The Mets are an awful team right now with no real hope of doing anything other than embarrassing themselves on a nightly basis. Reyes might as well just shut it down.
