Rubio to sign six-year deal in Spain?
Spanish media outlet Marca is reporting that Minnesota Timberwolves first-round pick Ricky Rubio is set to sign a six-year deal in Spain with Regal Barcelona. The deal will include a buyout clause that could bring him to the T-Wolves in 2011. Gee….that’s right around the corner.

“Based on the information I have attained today, no team in any league has reached a deal with DKV Joventut concerning Ricky’s buyout, which must be accomplished before Ricky is released from his contract,” said Wolves president David Kahn.
This is a big game of chicken being played with DKV Joventut, Rubio’s current franchise. They have an $8 million buyout clause that either a European team has to pay, or Rubio himself has to come up with the dough. NBA rules state that the T-Wolves can only pay up to $500,000 of it.
