Troy Polamalu out 3 to 6 weeks
Two-time All Pro safety Troy Polamalu was having himself a fantastic game in the season opener on Thursday night despite a couple 15-yard penalties. Highlighted by a one-handed interception and an impressive tackle for a loss on Chris Johnson where he shot like a missle into the backfield, Polamalu was in mid-season form.

Unfortunately, his night ended early after a Titans player fell on his knee while Polamalu was trying to pick up the ball after a blocked field goal by Steelers defensive end Aaron Smith in the second quarter. The results of the play left Polamalu with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee and the injury usually sidelines a player from 3 to 6 weeks.
Tomlin said there is a chance the injury could be worse once further tests are run.
“I’m sure there’s a possibility of it, but I don’t have any concrete evidence that there is anything more than that,” Tomlin said.
OTR hopes that nothing more serious comes out of the tests. One of the best parts of the NFL season is watching Troy Polamalu and Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed try to out perform one another on a weekly basis.
Pittsburgh defeated the Tennessee Titans 13-10 in overtime on Ben Roethlisberger’s 18th 4th quarter or overtime winning drive. Furthermore, the new buzz this year in the NFL is to repeat as many times as possible about Ben Roethlisberger’s pump-fake abililties.

This really sucks, thankfully it won’t be for the whole season. Also, I’m pretty sure that a Titan’s player feel on his knee after Smith blocked the field goal.
