Dany Heatley traded to San Jose Sharks
There’s nothing like some good old fashioned hockey news during the start of football season. So, turn off the Notre Dame-Michigan game, because this trade warrants some attention. The Ottawa Senators have traded winger Dany Heatley and a fifth-round draft pick to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Milan Michalek, Jonathan Cheechoo, and a second-round pick.

The 29-year old Heatley was drafted second overall in 2000 by the Atlanta Thrashers. Since then he has racked up 260 goals and 283 assists, including two 50-goal seasons with the Ottawa Senators.
Heatley has been pushing for a trade ever since Cory Clouston took over as coach last February. The trade was probably the best for all parties involved.
On a side note, did you know today is the first day of training camp for NHL teams? Didn’t the hockey season just end?
Now you may turn the game back on. Thank you.
