One of OTR’s favorite NBA players was arrested Thursday after police found a handgun in his pocket, a handgun strapped to his leg and a shotgun in a suitcase he was carrying all while speeding on a motorcycle. Are you kidding me? Delonte, what were you thinking? Just stick to having hot sauce in your bag, not guns in your suitcase.
Prince George’s County police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Reedy said West was riding a Can-Am Spyder motorcycle north on the Capital Beltway in Upper Marlboro when he cut off an officer, who pulled him over.
Wait, going back to that first paragraph, a shotgun in a suitcase? Who does that?
The 26-year-old West, who lives in Brandywine, was charged with speeding and weapons counts. Reedy said West was released on his own recognizance early Friday.
Why did you need to be holding three guns in Brandywine?
KIDS ALERT: This kids alert is an update to the story as per request of Lindsey. Kids, what did Delonte do wrong here? Never carry a suitcase when you are riding a motorcycle, it is awfully dangerous. You want both hands on the steering wheel handle bars. So, if you have a shotgun, get a strap, so you can strap the gun to your back.
I smell a “kids alert” somewhere in that story. Not sure what it is, but I think he may have done something wrong.
