Peavy activated from MPL
Chicago White Sox pitcher has been activated from the Mark Prior List as expected and will make his first start for the club Saturday night against the Kansas City Royals. This will be his first start since 1997 June 8, when he went down like a Saigon whore with a strained tendon in his ankle.

Peavy was holding a 3.92 ERA while with the Padres earlier in the season and the White Sox are very eager to get him into the rotation, despite him being on a pitch count. They really need him as they make their push to climb back into the division race after falling 6.5 games back. They are also still very much alive in the Wild Card race where they are just 16 games behind.
