Matthew Stafford might need surgery
Detroit Lions rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford had a setback after practicing on Wednesday. Stafford experienced more swelling in his right knee, which was injured three weeks ago when Chicago Bears Adewale Ogunleye dislocated his knee cap during a sack.
ESPN’s Chris Mortenson said this morning that Stafford is scheduled to have an MRI on the knee on Monday to determine whether surgery is necessary or not.
Daunte Culpepper will get the start today at Green Bay.
What’s the difference between Stafford and Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Sam Bradford? Stafford’s getting paid to be injured. Bradford isn’t. And this is exactly why Bradford should have went pro at the end of last season.
