Jennings sniffs triple-double

BrandonJennings 300x300 Jennings sniffs triple doubleMilwaukee Bucks rookie guard Brandon Jennings got close to a triple-double Friday night against the Philadelphia 76ers with 17 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. The Bucks lost, but anytime you put up great individual stats, it’s the same as winning.

Jennings also committed five turnovers during the game, so contrary to many reports, he isn’t perfect.

If you may recall, Jennings is the cat who decided to play in Europe for a year and avoid the NCAA. Why deal with college crap when you can play overseas against better competition and get paid $3.5 million ($2 mil in salary and $1.5 mil in endorsements)?

Well, because of the threat of falling in the NBA draft. But Jennings took the risk and it paid off. He got selected 10th by the Milwaukee Bucks and so far in this early season, he’s paying dividends.

Don’t think a bunch of talented high school kids didn’t notice the brave choice that Jennings made. The story has flown under the radar somewhat considering the magnitude that it could have.

If you see a bunch of high school kids heading for Europe to make money while prepping for the NBA, remember the name Brandon Jennings.
