Jim Brown lays into NFL, NCAA

Hall of Famer and part-time pot stirrer Jim Brown has unloaded on the NFL and the NCAA.

“The NFL, with the players association, have been an embarrassment, because the legends of the game who have run into hard times, medically and economically, have been deserted,” Brown said. “It’s a crying shame that an organization like the NFL does not take care of their own.”

He’s pretty much right. A lot of the older guys who helped build the league are kind of left out in the cold.

As for the NCAA?

He says it’s “the most ridiculous organization in the country.” He criticized all the administrators and college executives who make tons of money off of college kids by saying, “College athletes aren’t amateurs, these guys are the farm teams for the NBA and NFL.”

He’s exactly right. We couldn’t agree more. A free education is nowhere near enough compensation for the amount of money that others make off of college kids. It’s absolutely ridiculous, and maybe Brandon Jennings will finally send a strong message.
