Top selling sports jerseys
Did you know that the NFL has the top-10 selling jerseys in all of sports? Did you know that the top five are QB’s? We were thinking offensive guards, but what do we know?
Yes, it’s that time again (that is, if they’ve ever done this before) where Forbes announces the top-selling jerseys over the past year. And like we said, this is not just an NFL list, this is out of every one of the four major sports. That includes hockey.
So, who holds the #1 spot? Surprisingly and not surprisingly, Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo, who has sold an estimated 3.1 million jerseys in the past year. Not bad for a guy that hasn’t won a playoff game. But hey, he’s the quarterback of America’s Team and dated one of the Olsen twins or something so he got a lot of mainstream recognition.

#2-New York Giants QB Eli Manning. Really? Well, he does play in NY.
#3-Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. Not a shocker. Two Super Bowls will do that for you.
#4-New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez. Again with the NY thing.
#5-Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre. Just go away! Stop buying his jerseys, people. You aren’t helping.
#6-New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush. Reason #428 why fans should not vote for All-Star games like the Pro Bowl. For god’s sake he doesn’t even start.
#7-Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning. Thought he’d be much higher. Then again, he’s been a stud on the same team with the same number since 1998. How many do you need?
#8-Pittsburgh Steelers S Troy Polamalu. Really? I think this speaks volumes about either the number of Steelers fans there are nationally (come on, Pittsburgh is too small to single-handedly put someone on this list), or the number of bandwagon jumpers we have.
#9-Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson. Not a shock that he’s on this list.
#10-San Diego Chargers RB Ladainian Tomlinson. Ugh….why? This guy hasn’t been good for a couple of years now. He was a super elite back a few years ago, but c’mon, he’s toast. Get your Darren Sproles jerseys while they are cheap.
Eli Manning-not a surprise at all, actually. He doesn’t just appeal to men, but to women and children too. He reaches every group. He’s also one-half of one the greatest plays in Superbowl history.
