The Onion teams up with Comedy Central for sports show

Based on the Onion Sports Network, Comedy Central and The Onion are joining forces to produce a scripted, half-hour sports comedy pilot. If it’s in the style of stuff like the Staples Center collapsing and putting people out of their misery at the Clippers game, then we are all for it.

“We are thrilled to be in business with a cultural icon like the Onion to give our audience the sports show they deserve,” said Comedy Central original programming and development person Lauren Corrao said.

This could be really good.
