Phillies unlikely to deal for Halladay?
MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki, who used to cover the Phillies for the Philadelphia Inquirer, writes that sources tell him that a deal that would land the Phillies Roy Halladay is “unlikely.” There were rumors that the Phillies were going to make a play for him and that a deal might include Cole Hamels, but GM Ruben Amaro, Jr. giggled at that notion.
“Hamels is one of our starters next year,” he said. “And we view the combination of Hamels and (Cliff) Lee as strong a top of the rotation as anybody’s in the league.”
Zolecki doesn’t see it happening because it would mean completely gutting the farm system when you consider that last year the Blue Jays wanted JA Happ, Dom Brown, Anthony Gose and the untouchable Kyle Drabek.
It will be interesting to see who gets Halladay. A trade deadline deal might make the most sense.

What I wish to know is why I ought to care? I mean, not to express that what youve obtained to express isnt essential, but I mean, its so generic. Everyones talking about this guy. Give us one thing a lot more, some thing that we can get behind so we can really feel as passionately about it as you do.
