NBA won’t retire #23
Despite LeBron James’ pleas to the NBA to retire the #23 of Michael Jordan across the entire league, the NBA says it won’t do it.
Spokesman Tim Frank said on Saturday that “retiring a player’s number is a decision that has been made by the teams” and not by the NBA.
13 players currently wear the #23, but right now LeBron is the only superstar. But others say they’d be up for giving up their jersey number.

“I don’t have a problem,” Oklahoma City rookie Byron Mullens said. “I’m a rookie so I don’t have no say-so. It’s Jordan, man. His number should be retired from the NBA. If it is, then congratulations and good for him. If it’s not, then I guess I’ll stick to it. I was kidding around with my teammates, though. I told them, ‘Jordan’s going to have to pay me out.”‘
So it seems the only way that no one would ever wear #23 again is there was an unspoken rule that it’s just something you don’t do.
Thank goodness for that! Call me jaded an cynical, but LeBron’s “Quest” might have less to do with respect & a lot more to do with the Air-heir’s relationship with Nike. Follow the money. It would be mind-blowing & bank-filling to Nike if Mike were officially recognized as the only NBA player to have their jersey number retired League wide. If LeBron could pull it off…WOW! Think of the commercial potential!!!

I have to say, as much as I appreciated reading what you had to convey, I couldnt help but lose interest after a while. Its as if you had a good grasp on the matter, but you forgot to include your readers. Maybe you should think of this from more than one position. Or maybe you shouldn’t generalise so very much.
