If you are wondering why the Dallas Cowboys haven’t used the explosive Felix Jones more on offense, it’s because he’s guilty of one of the two things that keeps you off the field at RB no matter how good you are: fumbling and pass protection. With Felix, he’s struggling in the latter.
“He’s just not as adept at it yet,” Phillips said. “We need to feature him more, you know. When we got behind [at Green Bay], Marion [Barber] was having trouble with his hand as far as pass protection, so Tashard [Choice] was the guy that we went with as far as pass protection.
“It’s a concern because he is a better pass protector than Felix and he picks up the blitzes better.”
