Pierce out indefinitely
We meant to post this last night but we don’t care enough about our readers to be timely with our news. But we will say we are surprised by this. New York Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce will be out indefinitely, according to Ralph Vacchiano, because of an issue with his neck.
“Giants just announced LB Antonio Pierce is out “indefinitely” with a bulging disc in his neck. Pierce says he’s “shocked” by the news,” Vacchiano tweets.
This likely means that Chase Blackburn will fill in for him. Hell, based on what we’re hearing, Pierce could be done for the year. This is a huge blow to Giants defense that has been under-performing all year. Their front four just has not been the dominant force that they were under Steve Spagnuolo. That front four made the linebackers better and certainly their woeful secondary, which has been injured and awful all season.
Keep an eye on this one, the Giants can’t afford to take on more water on defense. Especially not with what appears to be a lousy defensive coordinator.
