For anyone thinking of accepting a check from former Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Ross Verba, we’d recommend against it. He was arrested in Phoenix on charges of failing to pay $26,000 in gambling debts to a Las Vegas resort.
He’s got three counts of writing bad checks in 2008 to the Palms. He’s been jailed in Phoenix and is fighting extradition to Nevada.
In 2007, he was charged with writing $50,000 in bad checks to the Wynne in Vegas, but the charges were dropped when he paid off the debt.
It’s not known if this will intrigue the Bengals enough to kick his tires.
