Lincecum will seek one-year deal

TimLincecum1According to Rick Thurman, the agent for San Francisco Giants superstud Tim Lincecum, the two-time Cy Young Award winner will seek a one-year deal in his first arbitration eligible offseason. He surely will break Ryan Howard’s record ($10 million) for first-year arbitration-eligible players.

“As of today, we’ll pursue a one-year deal,” Thurman said.

Lincecum wants to take full advantage of the arbitration system, and that’s fine. But he is taking a risk should he suffer some sort of serious arm injury. But based on what they say about his non-traditional delivery, that will never happen.
