Mariners sign Figgins

An Associate Press source says that the Seattle Mariners and third baseman Chone Figgins have agreed to a four-year, $36 million deal. Under the terms of the contract, the former Anaheim Angel will play third base for the Mariners.
The contract includes a vesting option in 2014 that could make it a $45 million deal.
Figgins will replace two-time Gold Glover Adrian Beltre, who the Mariners spent wayyy too much money on back in 2005.
This is only the beginning; we will lose Lackey, Vlad, and Oliver, in addition to Figgins. Question: Is Brandon Wood as good as Dallas McPherson, who supposedly was going to replace Troy Glaus? How many times has Wood struck out in the Minors? The fans have supported the team without reservation? When will the fans realize that they are being conned by ownership? the talk about Doc Halliday is also a con.
remember this: the angels gave Matthews, at age 33, five years at 10 mil / year, after he had one good year on juice. Figgins is 31 and has had several good years; result? they pull an el cheapo and lose him to Seattle. Fans stay home!
