Winfield returns….finally
Thanks to OTR’s friend Julia for tipping us off on this one. It seems that the Minnesota Vikings will be CB Antoine Winfield back this week. Steve Wyche tells us via Twitter, “Vikings CB Antoine Winfield to play vs. Bengals Sunday after missing 7 games with a foot injury.”
This upgrades an already nasty defense. His good cover skills and above-average tackling ability will help a Minnesota team that is trying to secure one of the two bye weeks in the playoffs. Right now they are at 10-2 and they have a tough game against Cincinnati this week. After that they are on the road for Carolina and Chicago before returning home to host the Giants in Week 17.
That could be a gimme game for the Giants if the Vikings have everything sewn up and decide to rest their guys.
