Charlie Frye to start, a new low for JaMarcus
With the season essentially over and no chance for the playoffs, you would think a team like the Oakland Raiders would want to get more reps and experience to their 2007 #1-overall pick JaMarcus Russell, right? Not the case. JaMarcus, welcome to your new low.
Raiders head coach said on a conference call on Wednesday that journeyman Charlie Frye will start Sunday against the Denver Broncos. That means that Russell already lost his job to Bruce Gradkowski, who isn’t known to be a great QB. And now he’s lost it to Charlie Frye as well.
We wonder, with the addition of J.P. Losman to the Raiders’ roster, if it’s only a matter of time before he surpasses Russell on the depth chart too.
This might be “we have no intentions of bringing you back next year ” territory.
