What’s wrong with Limas?
Something is going on with Pittsburgh Steelers WR Limas Sweed that the team doesn’t want us to know about. Sweed was put on the season-ending, reserve/non-football injury list due to an “illness.” Mike Tomlin refused to say much about it.
“I think it’s appropriate right now that we say very little in regard to his personal issues,” Tomlin said. “I will say this: It’s a non-football illness. He has our full support. Anything else I say will be in regards to protecting his privacy.”
Answers like this just add to the speculation. Players with physical injuries usually aren’t referred to in this way. Could it be mental? It’s completely irresponsible to speculate, but we do that all the time and consider ourselves to be legitimately irresponsible. Consistency is key.
It sounds like this is the little bit we’re going to know for now. The Steelers won’t miss him too much on the field because they’ve added Joey Galloway and Sweed isn’t very good to begin with.
