Troy Polamalu will be inactive against Dolphins
Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro safety Troy Polamalu, who has been injury-plagued all season long, will not play on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, according to Jason LaConfora.
Polamalu injured his knee in the season opener against the Tennessee Titans and hasn’t fully recovered since. Troy has only played in five games this year, but was still able to intercept three balls. His three interceptions is good for first on the team and accounting for one-third of the Steelers’ total of nine. Darren Sharper (Saints), Asante Samuel (Eagles), and Jairus Byrd (Bills) all have nine interceptions each for the season.

The lack of takeaways is definitely a huge reason why the Steelers are a long shot to make the playoffs. They are second to last in the AFC in takeaways (19), only behind the Cleveland Browns (18). The Redskins (16) are the only team to have less than them in the NFC.
The Steelers will clinch a playoff spot with a win and a Texan loss or tie plus a Jets loss or tie; or a win and a Texan loss or tie plus a Ravens loss or tie; or a win and a Jets loss or tie plus a Ravens loss or tie. Good luck.
