Jeff Fisher in line for USC’s head coaching job?
Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher could be the next coach of the USC Trojans. Pete Carroll left USC to become the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, leaving a vacant head coaching position that needs to be filled by the Trojans.
Schefter reports that Fisher was almost hired in 2001 before USC athletic director Mike Garrett brought Carroll on board. Furthermore, Titans owner Bud Adams might be receptive to letting Fisher go to USC.
Fisher is currently the longest-tenured coach in the NFL.
