Mets, Beltran, injuries, here we go again
New York Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran has been experiencing osteoarthritis of the right knee, causing his conditioning to become too painful. Therefore, Beltran opted to undergo microfracture surgery on Wednesday to prepare his knee and is expected to miss 12 weeks.
Beltran is not expected to be in the Mets lineup for the entire months of February and March. A tough blow for a team that still trails the Philadelphia Phillies by a ton of games.

Furthermore, it’s being reported that Beltran chose his own personal doctor for the procedure without the consent of the New York Mets, which might lead the Mets to seek damages against Beltran for the time he will miss.
Beltran only played in 81 games last year for the Mets, because of problems with the same knee. The Mets as a whole sent 20 players to the disabled list, totaling 1,480 days, more than any other team in baseball.
The Mets are not a very good baseball team.
