Feds get involved in the Marvin Harrison case
Sources tell ESPN that the Philadelphia police have enlisted the FBI to help with the investigation into whether or not the 2009 murder of a drug dealer is related to the 2008 shooting in which the same victim claims that former Indianapolis Colts WR Marvin Harrison shot at him.
In July 2009, a gunman approached the driver’s side of Dwight Dixon’s Toyota Camry and opened fire. Right before he slipped into a coma, Dixon was able to tell police that he thinks the shooting was related to the 2008 incident, where he got shot in the hand by bullets from Harrison’s gun, which was later found in a bucket in his car wash. Harrison denies any involvement.
Dixon gave an exclusive interview to E:60 about the 2008 incident.
“[Harrison] raises the guns up and started shooting,” Dixon said. “He raised both his hands up and started shooting at [my] truck.”
When asked how many shots were fired, he said “Too many to count.” Regarding his truck, he said, “the tires were all shot out, the windows were shot out.”
The bullets were traced to an insane, why-does-anyone-need-this-type-of-firepower Belgian handgun that Harrison owns. The case is open and ongoing, and the police hope the FBI can help link the incidents, which could be very bad news for Harrison. Police have already said that they are confident they know who fired the gun in 2008, but they didn’t think their witnesses were credible enough to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.
Stay tuned, Harrison ain’t out of the woods by any stretch.
