Santana says he’ll be ready for Opening Day
New York Mets ace Johan Santana vows to be ready for Opening Day in April despite having surgery on his elbow in September. He plans to throw off a mound on Tuesday for the first time since then.
“At this point I feel way ahead of what I was last year at this point. Definitely,” said Santana, who had triceps tendinitis during spring training. “There’s no question about it. I can’t wait to be out in spring training and see where we’re at to put everything together for Opening Day.”
The Mets open up the season in April against another baseball team.
