Yankees sign Winn
Joel Sherman of the NY Post says that the New York Yankees have signed former San Francisco Giants outfielder Randy Winn to a one-year deal.
“#Yankees have reached 1-yr agreement with Randy Winn pending physical,” he tweets.
It’s believed to be a $2 million deal and this should effectively close the door on Johnny Damon coming back. Damon is a much better offensive player than Winn (Winn hit just .262 last season with the Giants and is absolutely horrendous against lefties), but Winn is an upgrade in the outfield (Damon can’t reach second base without three hops).
