Giguere headed to Toronto

The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired 2003 Stanley Cup playoffs MVP Jean-Sebastien Giguere from the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in exchange for goalie Vesa Toskala and veteran Jason Blake. The Ducks recently gave Jonas Hiller a four-year, $18 million contract and were eager to unload Giguere.

The 32-year old Giguere has a one-year, $7 million contract remaining. Meanwhile, Blake has been a major Turd Ferguson for the Leafs this year and we’re sure they didn’t mind shipping him to the other side of the continent.
