Bryant passed Jerry West’s mark on a breakaway dunk in the third quarter and now has 25,208 career points.

  • Jerry West  25,192
  • Abdul-Jabbar  24,176
  • Elgin Baylor  23,149
  • Magic Johnson  17,707

“It’s a great honor to say the least [because] of the great players that have played here and the tradition we have,” Bryant said of becoming the Lakers’ career leading scorer. “[West] taught me so much when I was 17 years old. He showed me a lot about the game, the jump shot and spin moves and all the others.

“Even though it’s me passing him in the record books, it’s still us, and it’s still Magic and all the other great players, like Travis Knight and Chris Mihm.”

Despite breaking the record, the Lakers did lose the game against the Grizz, 95-93.  Los Angeles still holds the best record in the Western Conference at 37-12, three-and-a-half games ahead of the Denver Nuggets.  They are one game behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for the best record in the NBA.

  10. This is acquiring a bit much more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has a lot more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see connected albums, songs, or other users connected to what you’re listening to. Clicking on 1 of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will arrive into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” can be fantastic enjoyable, letting you locate others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to some playlist produced based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which can also be enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy are going to be relieved to know it is possible to avoid the public from seeing your personal listening habits in case you so choose.
