Schefter: Rams are taking Bradford
If anyone else said this or wrote this, we’d probably ignore it. But when it comes to having insider information ESPN’s Adam Schefter is about as good as they get. FOX’s Jay Glazer is up there as well. So when Schefter tells a St. Louis radio station that we need to believe it, that the St. Louis Rams are going to select Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford #1-overall, we take notice.
“I would like to record something here, on February 24th,” Schefter said. “Two months from the draft. And tell you who the number one pick is gonna be right now. On the basis of what I’ve talked to people around the league [about], everything I’ve heard. And at some point it’s gonna shift to this guy, and I don’t know whether it’ll be now or late March. It’ll probably be after his Pro Day, when he goes through his Pro Day and goes through his workout. Then all of a sudden — it’ll be about a month from now — we’ll start hearing, ‘Wow. Would and could the Rams take with the number one overall pick Sam Bradford?’
“And I believe ultimately, when all is said and done, that the Rams’ number one pick on April 22nd, two months from now, will be Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford. I’m willing to take all bets on that one right now.”
He went on to say that “there’s no way” that the Rams won’t take Bradford. Very strong words, but again, it’s Schefter. It’s not some podunk website (like us) popping off at the mouth (like us). But we think it’s still a little early to say this because of all the Michael Vick talk. Maybe Schefter believes/knows that a trade for the Philadelphia Eagles QB just ain’t going to happen.
