Bears cut Pace
After a lackluster 2009 season, the Chicago Bears have released tackle Orlando Pace, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Guess the Rams knew what they were doing – Chicago Bears cut OT Orlando Pace,” he tweets.
Pace was pretty much awful against the run and the pass all last year. He is only 34-years old and due a somewhat modest $3.75 million this year, but he clearly can’t do what he used to do. Despite the fact that he used to be one of the game’s elite tackles, he just doesn’t have the agility or power to be an NFL starter anymore.
In fact, at this point he might not find anyone to sign him as the guy that throws the frisbees to the dog at halftime.
