Schefter: Rams “are not” working on McNabb deal
Adam Schefter says that there is no truth to the story about the St. Louis Rams having talks with the Philadelphia Eagles regarding QB Donovan McNabb.
“RT @SportsJerk03 Are Rams really going after McNabb? … They are not. They haven’t had a single conversation with Rams regarding McNabb,” he tweets.
One of Brian Burwell’s colleagues at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch was even skeptical of this original rumor and Steve Spagnuolo even said they’ve never talked to the Eagles. So when Burwell mentions sources with knowledge of the situation, we are thinking he spoke to people in the Eagles camp.
The Eagles would have every reason in the world to leak these types of rumors. The more people who think there are a lot of players in the Donovan McNabb sweepstakes, the more the Eagles could potentially get from one of them. This type of trade doesn’t seem to make any sense whatsoever for the Rams anyway.
