Patriots and Eagles have offers ready for Peppers
According to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network, if Julius Peppers doesn’t sign with the Chicago Bears, the New England Patriots will give the Philadelphia Eagles some competition for his services. The big rumor has been that if Peppers didn’t sign in Chicago, he was off to Philadelphia for his next visit.
“Pats and Eagles have offers on table for Julius Peppers as well as Bears,” he tweets.
Peppers has been complaining for a while that he wants to play OLB in a 3-4 scheme. The Bears and Eagles both play the 4-3, whereas the Patriots play the 3-4. All things being equal, that could be the deal breaker for the Bears and Eagles. Also, he probably would have the best chance to win it all in New England.
We just can’t help but feel like whoever the “winner” is in all this is going to be disappointed with their “prize.”
