Kampman signs with Jaguars
A league source tells Michael C. Wright of the Florida Times-Union that the Jacksonville Jaguars and free agent DE Aaron Kampman have agreed on a deal.
Terms of the deal aren’t immediately available. The Jaguars certainly want Kampman to give them a pass rush opposite former first-round DE Derrick Harvey, who has given them next to nothing so far in his two year in town.
That not takes the top two defensive ends off of the free agent market. If the Philadelphia Eagles are seriously considering upgrading the pass rush from their front four, they are running out of options very quickly.
In our view, the less they are able to fix the defense this offseason, the more likely they should be to just move Donovan McNabb and go young now. Why keep a “win now” type of player around when you just can’t win now with the current group on the roster?
