Eagles to make a run at Edwards?
A report in the Delco Times suggests that the Philadelphia Eagles could make a run at Minnesota Vikings restricted free agent Ray Edwards. He’s only 25 and 8.5 sacks last year, but he would cost the Eagles their #24-overall pick unless they worked out some other form of compensation. Edwards was tendered at the first-round level.
Our buddy G. Cobb likes the idea and says that Edwards is better right now than anything they will get with that first-round pick. And he’s probably right.
Here is our concern: Edwards’ production came next to the Williams Wall (Pat Williams and Kevin Williams) and he had the best DE in all of football, Jared Allen, on the other side of the line. That’s a lot of attention that gets eaten up so that you can go out and be disruptive.
It’s not like the Eagles would be putting him next to a bunch of bums in Mike Patterson, Brodrick Bunkley and Trent Cole, but they aren’t quite at the level of the line in Minnesota.
I like this idea. But, given the fact that the birds absolutely will not enter this draft without a first-rounder, is it possible we could be getting another first-round pick in trade…say for Donovan? We can only hope.

What I dont recognize is how youre not even a lot more common than you might be now. Youre just so intelligent. You know so significantly about this theme, produced me take into consideration it from so many distinct angles.
