Alex Ovechkin suspended for two games

Alex Ovechkin has been suspended two games by the National Hockey League for an unnecessary hit against Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell.

The Washington captain was called for his third misconduct of the season for boarding Campbell, breaking his clavicle and ribs, and most likey ending his season.
Say what you want, this play was not ‘finishing a check.’ Ovechkin cleary hit Campbell from behind, sending him head first into the boards. What goes around, comes around.
