Moyer’s struggles continue

The Philadelphia Phillies are still trying to nail down their fifth starter for 2010 and it doesn’t seem like Jamie Moyer is making much of a case for himself. In a “B” game start yesterday, he allowed five runs on eight hits in three innings against the Blue Jays.
This his third straight “B” game start, but this time he faced some major leaguers including Jose Bautista and Lyle Overbay. This isn’t good. Kyle Kendrick has yet to surrender a run this spring in nine innings of work.
Moyer is scheduled to make his Grapefruit League debut against the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland on Saturday and needs to start showing that he belongs in the rotation. As of now, it’d be tough not to have Kendrick out in front.
