If JRuss was 300+ last year and he weighed in at 271, why would you even say he gained 11 pounds of muscle?!?! If that is the case, he actually lost 40 pounds of fat. Maybe you don’t go to the gym, but I do…and when I lose unwanted fat, muscle naturally replaces it. And BTW, muscle weighs more than fat so its extremely hard to actually lose weight in a month or even 2 when you are that heavy…but JRuss did. This has to be the worst thought out article I have ever read. Also…an NFL players listed weight is rarely what it truly is. JRuss is actually closer to his “listed” weight than he has been in 2 years. Think before you write please.

Everyone knows 'listed' weights are BS. What did we have Grady Jackson and Sam adams listed at? Both were WAY over listed.
Jamarcus is a BIG DUDE. We all knew he's the size of a big LB or a smallish DE. Im much more concerned with overall conditioning than actual weight. If he's 270 and strong, that's fine. Of course connective tissue takes 4x as long to grow as muscle does, so he's more likely to pull something if he has muscled up the last few months.

Point is, it's the mental side we're really worried about. F kawasaki, he's a h8r anyway.

Ok everyone that doesnt think that losing 50 lbs in just a few months isnt good can just go give phillip rivers a nob polishing! christ people Jafata$$ Russell weighed in at 320 plus at the start of camp last year and wasnt even under 300 by seasons end. look at the tape from some games last year Russell dwarfs Robert Gallery and Gallery is listed at 300 i think .
