Bracket busters continue, Syracuse bounced by Butler

Quick question: Whose NCAA Tourney bracket is still in relatively decent shape? No, the men’s tournament. Right, that one. If your bracket isn’t busted to bejesus and back, then you took some wild chances, are probably an idiot, and will probably win your office bracket despite picking teams based on their mascot names.

So, yeah, it happened. #5 Butler knocked top-seeded Syracuse in the teeth and out on to the curb 63-59 on Thursday night. Butler sliced through the tough Syracuse zone defense and kept the Orangemen from getting out and running. They also had a late 11-0 running that prompted Jerry Cordova to say, “Put that dick in my mouth!” repeatedly.

Gordon Hayward dropped 17 points and was the one who dribbled out the clock after Syracuse turned the ball over for the 18th time. For crying out loud, 18 times? They had a 54-50 lead with 5:23 remaining, but crumbled and scored just five points for the remainder of the game.

This will prompt the folks at credible websites like OTR to question Jim Boeheim’s coaching ability. Always been a great recruiter, but the only time he’s really done anything was when he had Carmelo Anthony taking hot dumps on everyone.

Butler is now one win away from the school’s first Final Four. And again, if you have Butler going to the Final Four, you are an idiot.
