Arenas avoids jail time
Washington Wizards chowderhead guard Gilbert Arenas was sentence on Friday in his case for bringing firearms into the Wizards’ locker room (and pulling one on Javaris Crittendon). How he avoided jail time, we don’t know, but we guess that’s what happens when you are rich.
In the end, Arenas got 30 days in a halfway house, two years supervised probation, 400 hours of community service and a $5,000 fine. However, not unlike Michael Vick, Arenas could be facing a much bigger penalty in the overall game of life.
Arenas is currently on suspension from the NBA. He has four years remaining on his $111 million contract. Who knows when the suspension will be lifted and where he will play next. One thing you can be sure of is that there isn’t a chance in hell that he ever sees those kinds of dollars again.
