Santonio Holmes sued for rocking the party
One of the important aspects of being a team and being someone’s teammate, is that you have to pick each other up when times get tough. And for Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, he’s struggling with a civil rape case and now pending criminal sexual assault charges. So what are his teammates supposed to do to make him feel better? Well, get in some legal trouble of their own so that Big Ben doesn’t feel like the only derelict on the team.
That’s right, we thought Steelers WR Santonio Holmes had gotten his act together, but maybe he hasn’t. According to CourtHouseNews.com, a lawsuit was filed on March 24th regarding a March 7th incident at Rain nightclub in Orlando.
The plaintiff, Anshonoe Mills, claims that “put his hand” in her face while attempting to get her off of the arm of a couch in the VIP lounge. Holmes then allegedly “threw his entire glass cup of liquor” and hit her in her eye just below her eyebrow “blinding her temporarily.”
According to her suit, Mills asked police officers outside the club to reprimand Holmes. Holmes supposedly then told Mills that he is an NFL star and can not face criminal charges. He then offered her money because he’s an NFL star and can’t face charges. Ok.
Holmes faces charges of assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. There was talk that there was no police report was filed by the Orlando Police Department, but apparently there is one on the way.
Stay tuned on this one.
