Broncos send Marshall to Miami
The Denver Broncos have shipped mercurial wide receiver Brandon Marshall to the Miami Dolphins for a second-round pick and what is believed to be a second-round pick next year as well. The Dolphins apparently don’t care about his history of poor behavior because they gave him a five-year extension worth $50 million, putting him Larry Fitzgerald’s neighborhood.
The deal includes $24 million guaranteed and nearly $29 million in the first three years of the contract. Not bad.
The Dolphins now finally have someone on the outside that demands attention. Yes, we know they’ve had Greg Camarillo for a few years, but this is a little bit different. Marshall will take a lot of pressure off of the other guys in the offense.
For the Broncos, they unloaded a headache. Marshall didn’t get along with head coach Josh McDaniels and they didn’t really want him around. Now, he gets to annoy the crap out of Bill Parcells and company down in South Beach.
