Rollins placed on 15-day DL
The Philadelphia Phillies announced this afternoon that they have placed shortstop Jimmy Rollins on the 15-day disabled list. Rollins suffered a Grade 1/Grade 2 calf strain while running before a game against the Washington Nationals.
“We believe it to be a mild to moderate strain and we’re hopeful it will be a two-to-four week recovery,” general manager Reuben Amaro said. “As in all of our injuries, precautions will be taken so that Jimmy is 100 percent when he returns to the field.”

Rollins is hitting .391 with a .516 on-base percentage and a .739 slugging percentage so far in 2010. This is a blow to the Phillies lineup (and their defense), but luckily they have Shane Victorino who can lead off as well.
