Dwight Howard gets Defensive Player of the Year award
Orlando Magic big man Dwight Howard is making this look easy. He repeated as Defensive Player of the Year for 2009-2010 by garnering 110 of 122 possible first place votes, earning 576 total points. Superman indeed!
Atlanta’s Josh Smith was second with 136 points and Charlotte’s Gerald Wallace was third at 113 points.
Howard led the NBA in rebounding averaging 13.2 boards per game, and also led the league in blocks with 2.8.
Howard is a monster. If he worked on his mid-range game on offense and developed a little jump hook or something, he’d be completely unstoppable. And he’s only 24!
